Technical Superintendent

About the role

The Technical Superintendent is responsible for the overall technical management and operation of assigned vessels, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with class and statutory regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance, repairs, budgeting, and survey scheduling for vessels.
• Maintain classification status and ensure monthly survey status reports are issued.
• Support and monitor onboard Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and ensure proper use of the vessel's Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
• Prepare dry‑dock specifications, supervise dry‑dockings and repairs, and coordinate with yards, subcontractors, and class societies.
• Manage installation and certification of third‑party equipment such as diving gear and ROVs.
• Liaise with vessel masters, chief engineers, customers, and internal departments on technical and operational matters.
• Source technical supplies, control costs, and track purchase requisitions.
• Produce written reports on repairs, dry‑dock activities, and surveys, including cost details.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical management of commercial vessels.
• Strong knowledge of class and statutory regulations.
• Ability to manage budgets and oversee complex repair projects.
• Effective communication with ship crews, yards, and customers.
