Telephone Operator – Hotel Front Desk

About the role

The Telephone Operator at The Meydan Hotel ensures that every guest call is answered promptly, courteously, and accurately, supporting a seamless hospitality experience in a 24‑hour environment.

Key responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls within three rings, using a pleasant and professional tone.
• Provide guests and internal departments with accurate information, assistance, and directions.
• Transfer calls efficiently to the appropriate department or extension.
• Take and deliver messages accurately and promptly.
• Record and track guest requests, complaints, and inquiries, coordinating with relevant departments for resolution.
• Make outgoing calls, including wake‑up calls, on schedule.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of hotel facilities, services, promotions, and local information.
• Support the Front Office team during peak periods or emergencies.
• Ensure communication equipment is maintained and report any malfunctions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality education is a plus.
• Previous experience in a hotel telephone operator or communications role preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication with a clear, professional tone.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Required skills

• Familiarity with hotel management systems.
• Experience using telephone switchboards.
