Tool Room Technician

About the role

A manpower management firm operating in East Africa is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a competent, skilled and experienced Tool Room Technician to work in the UAE. The role covers the installation and maintenance of moulds and tools used in the production of plastic fittings and pipes.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Handle complaints raised by operations, including fault finding and rectification.
• Perform preventive maintenance on moulds, dies and tools according to schedule.
• Install and set up tools and mould machines according to production requirements, ensuring proper alignment and secure attachment.
• Complete monitoring checklists and keep log books, activity records and material usage records accurate.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety policies, and help identify safety hazards.
• Use and store materials and equipment correctly, and perform other assigned tasks.

Required profile

• Diploma or industrial trade certificate with at least 2 years of experience in a process plant.
• Good physical condition.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret manuals and drawings.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of the moulding process and extruders is an advantage.
