Unit Clerk Interpreter

About the role

The Unit Clerk Interpreter provides essential administrative and clerical support within a hospital unit, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and effective communication between patients, staff, and insurance providers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and insurance approvals, including pre‑certifications and transfer authorisations.
• Maintain and audit patient medical charts, consent forms, and legal documentation to ensure compliance with hospital policies and confidentiality standards.
• Act as a liaison among physicians, nurses, patients, and various hospital departments, relaying information and facilitating inter‑departmental communication.
• Provide Arabic and English verbal and written translation services for patients and visitors.
• Manage room classifications, update charges in the Cerner system, and support billing and finance teams.
• Order, monitor, and restock medical and office supplies, and coordinate technical support with IT.

Required profile

• High school graduate with excellent English and Arabic communication skills.
• Experience in customer service and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Ability to respond to emergency codes and handle confidential information securely.

Required skills

• Proficiency in the Cerner hospital information system.
• Computer literacy and basic data entry skills.
