Visiting Faculty – Electrical Engineering (Fall 2027)

About the role

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the American University of Sharjah seeks a Visiting Faculty member for the Fall 2027 semester. This full‑time, one‑year renewable appointment is open at the assistant, associate, or full professor level and focuses primarily on teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate Electrical Engineering courses and develop related teaching materials.
• Teach graduate-level courses and supervise graduate projects or theses.
• Update curricula and contribute to course design.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and academic events.
• Engage in scholarly research and publish findings (highly desirable).

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate students.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching; a strong research record is a plus.
• Familiarity with the American model of higher education.
