Absher - Female Arabic Speaker

About the role

Royal Health Al Salam Specialized Hospital in Abu Dhabi is hiring a full-time Absher, a 1-year position, who will provide patient and visitor support across the healthcare facility. The role acts as a welcoming ambassador, helping patients, families and visitors with navigation, appointments, registration and general inquiries while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome patients, visitors and guests professionally and courteously.
• Assist patients with wayfinding and escort them to clinics, departments, diagnostic areas and other hospital locations.
• Support patients during registration, appointment scheduling and check-in/check-out.
• Provide information on hospital services, facilities, visiting hours and organizational policies.
• Assist elderly patients, people of determination and patients requiring special support.
• Coordinate with reception, nursing, clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Answer patient and visitor questions promptly and resolve concerns within your scope.
• Keep wheelchairs and other assistance equipment available and maintained, and monitor waiting areas.
• Support patient experience initiatives and report complaints, incidents or service issues to the supervisor.
• Follow hospital policies, infection prevention protocols and safety rules, and keep patient information confidential.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, healthcare support or patient services is preferred.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is preferred.
• Ability to work in a hospital, clinic, rehabilitation centre or similar healthcare setting, including possible shift work, weekends, public holidays and extended hours.

• Ability to work with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds and to stay calm in busy environments.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with healthcare environments are advantageous.
