Specialist Registered Nurse

About the role

The Specialist Registered Nurse provides specialized, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients within their designated clinical specialty. The role covers patient assessment, care planning, implementation of nursing interventions, monitoring of treatment outcomes and safeguarding patient safety and satisfaction in line with DHA regulations and established healthcare standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, psychological and clinical conditions and identify their nursing care needs
• Develop, implement, evaluate and modify individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications, treatments and prescribed nursing interventions safely
• Monitor and document vital signs, clinical progress and responses to treatment
• Respond promptly to changes in clinical condition and emergencies
• Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Maintain accurate patient medical records and nursing documentation
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, medication and preventive care
• Follow infection prevention and control protocols and protect patient confidentiality
• Take part in clinical audits, quality improvement and patient safety programmes
• Supervise and support junior nursing staff and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or an equivalent recognized qualification
• Relevant clinical experience in the assigned nursing specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS/PALS where applicable to the specialty
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team
