About the role

The Account Manager III will own a portfolio of strategic accounts in the scientific publishing space, driving revenue growth and renewal performance. You will act as a trusted advisor, using data insights to shape solutions that meet institutional research and teaching needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage 100‑200 accounts, meeting revenue targets and renewal rates.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans, revisiting goals throughout the year.
  • Analyze usage data and performance trends to assess account health and proactively address issues.
  • Renew and renegotiate agreements, handling paperwork and compliance.
  • Identify cross‑selling opportunities across journal and non‑journal products.
  • Research client organizations to tailor solutions to their specific strategies.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular forecasting.
  • Collaborate with customer success, sales operations and editorial teams.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and events.
  • Travel up to 30% and work flexible hours to support global customers.

Required profile

  • 4‑year undergraduate degree.
  • 5‑7+ years of experience meeting sales targets and managing strategic accounts.
  • Proven ability to sell in complex, consultative environments.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using customer data to drive decisions.
  • Excellent written communication and independent work style.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with CRM systems.
