Account Opening Officer – Banking Operations

About the role

The Account Opening Officer is responsible for processing account opening requests across various business lines, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with operational policies. The role supports the division’s mission of operational excellence by handling accounts for WBG, IBG, ADIB Iraq and ADIB UK.

Key responsibilities

• Processing account opening requests for WBG, IBG, ADIB Iraq and ADIB UK, ensuring documentation complies with approved standards and timeframes.
• Maintaining CRM workflows, updating MIS dashboards and handling end‑to‑end account opening in systems such as AMBIT, CRM, Mosaic and Phoenix.
• Conducting KYC/EDD checks, especially for high‑risk countries, and escalating compliance issues as required.
• Coordinating with service teams, sending reminders, and ensuring timely submission of documents to the Central Control Unit.

Required profile

• Knowledge of basic banking procedures, particularly account opening and related documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with the ability to interact with executive‑level stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and facilitation abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office products.
• Experience using CRM systems and banking platforms such as AMBIT, Mosaic and Phoenix.
• Solid PC and general office system skills.
