Accountant – Construction & Engineering Firm

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the company's day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations. The successful candidate will maintain accurate financial records, handle accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, support payroll, manage VAT documentation, and prepare financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate day‑to‑day accounting records and financial transactions.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier and customer balances.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and other accounting documents.
• Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Record and track project‑related expenses, assist with project costing and budgeting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and accounting summaries.
• Assist with payroll processing and employee‑related financial records.
• Support UAE VAT calculations, VAT returns and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with UAE accounting regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with project managers, procurement, HR and management on financial matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE construction or contracting sector.
• Strong knowledge of UAE accounting practices and VAT regulations.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CMA, CPA or equivalent are an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and maintain high accuracy.

Required skills

• Tally ERP / TallyPrime (mandatory).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Familiarity with digital banking and online accounting/payment platforms.
