Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

Platinum UAE is seeking an experienced Accountant to lead end‑to‑end accounting operations in Dubai. The role involves managing month‑end and year‑end closings, financial reporting, UAE tax compliance, and supporting procurement and payroll functions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end and year‑end financial closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and management reports.
• Maintain the general ledger, process journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments, provisions and adjustments.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, supplier payments and reconciliations.
• Review utility bills for accuracy and ensure timely payment.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts, monitor working‑capital requirements and conduct budget variance analysis.
• Perform bank, petty‑cash and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Prepare and file UAE VAT and Corporate Tax returns in line with FTA requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Maintain fixed‑asset register, calculate depreciation and monitor inventory records.
• Process payroll, employee reimbursements and expense claims.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CMA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, including UAE experience.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience with UAE VAT regulations and Corporate Tax filings.
