AI Agent Engineering Project Intern – Procurement

About the role

Join ByteDance's Corporate Information department to help transform a traditional procurement system into an AI‑native platform. As an AI Agent Engineering Project Intern you will work on building intelligent Procurement Agents that streamline complex, high‑value workflows for employees worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation, and validation of Procurement Agents and the underlying System AI Harness under mentor guidance.
• Develop and maintain services, business logic, and data flows that power AI‑native procurement, ensuring code quality and reliability.
• Explore AI Agent capabilities such as planning, tool use, memory, and multi‑step reasoning, turning them into functional features.
• Build quick prototypes, experiment with emerging AI techniques, and translate promising ideas into product capabilities.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to break down problems and deliver complete solutions.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program related to computer science, engineering, or a similar field.
• Strong interest in AI, machine learning, and applying AI to real‑world business problems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced, collaborative team.
