AI, Data Governance & Privacy Officer – Dubai

About the role

The AI, Data Governance & Privacy Officer will design and run an enterprise‑wide framework that governs data, artificial intelligence, privacy and responsible digital innovation across the organisation. Reporting as a second‑line authority, the role ensures that AI and data initiatives deliver value while complying with regulatory, ethical and risk standards.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an enterprise AI Governance Framework, defining policies, standards, controls and operating procedures for Agentic AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics and Intelligent Automation.
• Chair the AI Governance Committee and manage AI approval, risk assessment and lifecycle governance from development to retirement.
• Develop and operate an enterprise Data Governance framework, including data ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata, master data, lineage, retention and classification.
• Lead data cataloguing, inventory programmes and implement governance tooling for structured and unstructured data.
• Act as Data Protection Officer where required and ensure compliance with UAE PDPL, DIFC Data Protection Law, GDPR and other regional privacy regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AI governance, data governance and privacy compliance within a large, regulated organisation.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements such as UAE PDPL, DIFC Data Protection Law and GDPR.
• Ability to design and enforce policies, standards and controls for emerging AI technologies.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to lead cross‑functional committees and drive governance adoption.
