AI Scientist (LLM Research) – Up to $200k Base + Bonus

About the role

We are expanding the AI research team of a global fund in Abu Dhabi and are looking for an AI Scientist to lead the development and optimisation of next‑generation large language model (LLM) applications. The role involves hands‑on work across the full LLM lifecycle, from fine‑tuning foundation models and prompt optimisation to deploying production‑ready AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Fine‑tune and optimise foundation models for specific use‑cases.
• Design and implement prompt engineering strategies to improve model performance.
• Deploy LLM‑based applications such as conversational agents, text‑generation tools and summarisation services into production environments.
• Conduct model evaluation, safety testing and applied research in collaboration with engineering and product teams.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience fine‑tuning, optimising and deploying LLMs.
• Expertise with PyTorch, TensorFlow and/or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience building conversational AI, text generation or summarisation applications.
• Solid understanding of prompt engineering, model evaluation and AI optimisation techniques.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning or a related field from a leading university.
• Track record of impactful AI research or recognised open‑source contributions is a plus.
