Air Conditioning Technician – Hotel Operations

About the role

The A/C Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing air‑conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems throughout the Desert Islands Resort & Spa. The role ensures HVAC equipment operates efficiently to provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair split AC units, package units, VRF/VRV systems, fan coil units, air handling units, exhaust fans and other HVAC equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including cleaning coils, filters and drain lines, and checking refrigerant levels.
• Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and respond promptly to guest or department maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs and parts replacement.
• Coordinate with the engineering storekeeper to ensure availability of spare parts and tools.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC or a related technical field.
• Minimum of one year of HVAC maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
• Familiarity with occupational health, safety and environmental regulations, including refrigerant handling.

Required skills

• Experience with VRF/VRV systems, AHUs and FCUs.
• Knowledge of split AC units and package units.
• Refrigerant charging, recovery and leak detection.
