API Technician – Senior Technical Supervisor

About the role

The Senior API Technician is accountable for the performance of the assigned section, working closely with senior welders and machinists to boost efficiency while maintaining quality and cost standards. The role involves managing team leave, coordinating overtime, and ensuring the availability of tools and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise the iFlight/Intranet system to request material requisitions for missing items.
• Clarify scope of work with teams, identify required spares, parts, and tooling, and raise purchase requests when needed.
• Issue and monitor Route Sheets for the team, ensuring sign‑off after operations.
• Log faulty equipment in the Maintenance Log System.
• Organise and conduct daily Tool Box Talks.
• Manage team leave (holiday and sick) and support the HR Manager as required.
• Conduct annual skills matrix reviews with the Production Engineer/Manager.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a technician in a supervisory role.
• Strong ability to interpret technical data from multiple sources.
• Good understanding of planning and logistics methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Diploma in Engineering required; degree preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with iFlight and Material Requisition systems.
• Experience using Maintenance Log System.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of API manufacturing and repair.
• Familiarity with Roteq, oil & gas, and general industrial equipment repair.
