Lead Engineer

About the role

ETAP is seeking a Lead Engineer to head the design, integration, testing and commissioning of Power Automation solutions for customers in the UAE. You will work on SAS, SCADA, Control Center, PMS, Generator Management and Load Shedding systems, ensuring reliable delivery from concept to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end design, engineering, integration, testing, FAT/SAT and site commissioning of power automation solutions.
• Engineer and integrate SAS/SCADA/Control Center components such as IEDs, RTUs, PLCs, protection relays, meters, gateways, HMI, historian, alarms and time‑synchronisation.
• Design, configure and validate Load Shedding schemes (UFLS, UVLS, priority‑based, fast shedding, restoration).
• Develop and troubleshoot industrial communication and OT networks (TCP/IP, VLANs, PRP/HSR, firewalls, redundancy).
• Configure IEC 61850, IEC 60870‑5‑104, DNP3, Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC DA/UA, ICCP/TASE.2 protocols.
• Lead OT cybersecurity and IT infrastructure tasks including segmentation, RBAC, system hardening and secure remote access.
• Prepare and lead FAT, SAT, point‑to‑point, integration and HIL/RTDS testing, including failure and redundancy scenarios.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, customer training and documentation.

Required profile

• Graduate in Electrical, Power Systems, Control & Automation or a related discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in power automation, SAS/SCADA, control‑center or PMS projects.
• Proven track record leading engineering, system integration, commissioning and customer demonstrations.
