Architectural Inspector

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Architectural Inspector to join its Dubai team. The role involves on‑site inspection of architectural works to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications and local regulations. You will work closely with contractors, engineers and project managers to maintain high quality standards throughout construction.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect site architectural activities for compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings and specifications.
• Verify that only approved materials and systems are used on site according to submittals.
• Review delivered architectural materials against approved samples and specifications.
• Monitor finishes, workmanship and installation methods during construction.
• Report non‑compliance cases and advise the resident engineer or deputy project manager.
• Coordinate with contractors and other discipline inspectors to ensure proper sequencing of works.
• Review contractor method statements for contractual compliance.
• Maintain daily inspection records, reports and photographic documentation.
• Assist during client and authority inspections and participate in snagging, de‑snagging and final hand‑over inspections.
• Support the review of as‑built drawings and close‑out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in architectural site supervision or inspection of building projects.
• Strong background in residential, commercial or mixed‑use developments.
• Mandatory prior experience in the UAE with knowledge of local authority requirements and construction practices.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UAE local authority regulations and construction practices.
• Ability to review and assess architectural method statements.
• Proficiency in maintaining detailed inspection records and photographic documentation.
