Assistant Housing Manager

About the role

The Assistant Housing Manager supports the management of on‑site accommodation provided to hotel team members at Desert Islands Resort & Spa. Reporting to the Housing Manager, the role ensures that staff housing is safe, well‑maintained, and meets the comfort expectations of residents.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of housing facilities, including check‑ins, check‑outs, maintenance requests and cleanliness.
• Coordinate housing assignments to ensure fair distribution and optimal use of available units.
• Maintain accurate occupancy records and related documentation.
• Work with maintenance teams to schedule repairs, address plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general upkeep issues.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for residents, handling queries, concerns and requests promptly.
• Promote a positive community atmosphere and implement initiatives to improve resident satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations through regular inspections and safety briefings.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting housing operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in housing, facilities or accommodation management, preferably within the hospitality sector.
• Strong organisational and record‑keeping abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards applicable to residential facilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams.
