Assistant Manager – Data Center Operations

About the role

Equinix is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Dubai data centre. The role focuses on leading the operations team, ensuring safe and reliable 24x7 service, and coordinating vendors in a mission‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of data centre operations staff, handling scheduling, shift handovers and performance reviews.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operational activities, including rounds, logs, permits and documentation.
• Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, maintaining operational readiness and site discipline.
• Manage third‑party contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Act as first escalation point during incidents, changes or problems and drive resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in people leadership within a technical environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical or mechanical systems in a data centre.
• Ability to schedule resources and manage 24x7 shift operations.
• Experience coordinating vendors and ensuring compliance with safety policies.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
