Assistant Manager, Derivative Operations

About the role

Join Mashreq Bank’s Derivative Operations team as an Assistant Manager, overseeing the validation and settlement of OTC derivative products while ensuring compliance with Islamic finance guidelines. You will work closely with Treasury Operations and other stakeholders to drive efficiency across the trade life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and manage OTC derivative trades, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee settlement processes for derivatives, monitoring trade lifecycles from execution to clearing.
• Create and review derivative confirmation documents and SWIFT messages for completeness.
• Ensure adherence to Islamic product workflow and documentation standards.
• Handle Futures & Options clearing activities, including trade execution and settlement.
• Coordinate OTC derivative clearing activities with relevant internal teams.
• Monitor market data and trends to identify risks and opportunities for the bank’s derivative portfolio.
• Collaborate with Treasury Operations to develop and implement efficient derivative processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in derivative operations, especially OTC products.
• Strong understanding of core derivative instruments across equity, FX, rates and commodities.
• Familiarity with Islamic finance principles applied to derivative transactions.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with financial software for trade validation and settlement.
• Experience using SWIFT messaging for derivative confirmations.
