Assistant Professor – Clinical Psychology & Mental Health

About the role

Abu Dhabi University’s College of Health Sciences is seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor to join its Clinical Psychology and Mental Health program. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise research and practicum, and contribute to curriculum development and community outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in clinical psychology and mental health, covering topics such as abnormal psychology, clinical assessment, counseling and psychotherapy.
• Supervise student research projects, theses and practicum placements.
• Develop and update curriculum and course materials in line with accreditation standards.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Participate in departmental and university service, including committees and community outreach on mental‑health awareness.

Required profile

• PhD in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level.
• Strong record of research and publications in clinical psychology or mental health.
• Experience supervising student research and practicum.
• Commitment to curriculum development and academic excellence.

Required skills

• Expertise in clinical assessment, counseling and psychotherapy techniques.
• Knowledge of accreditation and academic standards in higher education.
• Ability to design and deliver effective university courses.
