Assistant Resident Engineer – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Assistant Resident Engineer to support our Resident Engineer on a high‑profile infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. You will work on‑site, ensuring construction activities comply with statutory requirements, contractual obligations and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer with statutory duties and technical competent‑person requirements mandated by local authorities.
• Conduct regular on‑site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, method statements and safety protocols.
• Review contractor‑proposed construction sequences, temporary works and late‑cast openings for structural integrity and feasibility.
• Monitor and guide the contractor’s technical competent persons, ensuring adherence to project standards.
• Serve as liaison between contractor, site team and design office to resolve construction‑related issues promptly.
• Identify, document and escalate non‑conformities with detailed reporting.
• Implement and monitor QA/QC systems, site safety protocols and environmental management practices.
• Prepare comprehensive site reports, inspection records and defect reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience with on‑site construction inspection and coordination.
• Familiarity with local regulatory requirements for infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
