Assistant Resident Engineer – Roads & Bridges

About the role

Parsons is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction of roads and bridges in Dubai. The role involves coordinating design, construction, and safety activities while ensuring project progress and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising road and bridge construction works.
• Act on behalf of the Resident Engineer during absences.
• Review shop drawings, design proposals, and method statements; prepare correspondence and replies.
• Coordinate with Parsons design engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain daily diaries, inspection reports, and progress documentation.
• Schedule resources with contractor engineers and monitor inspector/surveyor performance.
• Chair meetings with authorities, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure safety goals are met and oversee implementation of safety procedures on site.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports and assist in issuing site instructions.
• Verify work measurements, track progress versus program, and ensure accurate as‑built drawings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of major road and bridge projects.
• At least 2 years of proven experience managing construction supervision teams.
• Ability to act independently as Resident Engineer when required.
