Assistant Technician – Power Distribution (Medium Voltage)

About the role

VIVO Defence Services is seeking an Assistant Technician for Medium Voltage (MV) power distribution. You will perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on MV systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while working on a diverse technical team.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on MV power distribution assets.
• Conduct functional tests on Ring Main Units, MV transformers and switchgear.
• Perform earth testing programs and thermal imaging surveys.
• Lead periodic preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, condition assessments and configuration modifications.
• Read, interpret and describe electrical drawings, schematics and layout diagrams.
• Follow all general and technical safety requirements, including electrical isolation and LOTO procedures.

Required profile

• High School Certificate or Industrial Training Institute Diploma in Electrical Maintenance or equivalent.
• IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent.
• Valid UAE driving licence (desirable).
• Minimum three years of experience in a structured cabling environment or similar; airport experience is a plus.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
