Associate Director, Loan Syndication, Sales & Distribution

About the role

The Associate Director will lead the development and execution of syndicated loan strategies across Asia, GCC, CIS and Africa, working closely with FI coverage and investment banking origination teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain investor coverage across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia to efficiently sell FI syndicated loan transactions in primary and secondary markets.
• Conduct market checks, bookrunning and selective execution of FI syndicated loan transactions in coordination with the Direct Supervisor.
• Collaborate with FI coverage and IB Origination teams to shape loan syndication strategy and price/structure deals in line with market conditions.
• Prepare underwriting memoranda and liquidity analyses for underwritten transactions.
• Lead the preparation of information packs and manage the bookrunning process for syndicated loans arranged by Mashreq.
• Execute loan documentation for transactions led solely by Mashreq and engage continuously with counterparties to provide market insights.
• Recommend and implement syndication strategies to successfully place FI loans across target regions.
• Support the Direct Supervisor in decision‑making on underwritten transactions and contribute to product improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10–12 years of experience in loan syndication or related investment banking roles at a regional or global institution.
• Strong multi‑product investment banking expertise with a focus on syndicated loan transactions.
• Proven credit analysis skills and ability to articulate credit stories to investors.
• Extensive network and investor coverage across core markets (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia).
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with internal stakeholders and external investors.
