Associate Estimating Engineer (UAE National)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a UAE National Associate Estimating Engineer to support estimating activities on assigned projects and programs in Abu Dhabi. The role involves preparing material take‑offs, developing work breakdown structures and contributing to cost‑based estimates that drive project decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare material take‑offs from engineering drawings, AutoCAD files and other specifications.
• Develop detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) to support estimate development.
• Gather, evaluate and document historical cost data for use in future estimates.
• Prepare bases of estimate (BOE) including scope, pricing methodology, labor, material and equipment rates, assumptions and exclusions.
• Utilize estimating software and tools to perform quantity take‑offs, cost calculations and bid item development.
• Obtain quotations from subcontractors, vendors and suppliers and incorporate them into estimates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
• UAE National – fresh graduates are welcome.
• Clear understanding of construction contracts, commercial documents, drawings and specifications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Required skills

• AutoCAD for drawing review and take‑offs.
• Estimating database software (e.g., proprietary Parsons tools).
• Primavera scheduling software.
• Contract Manager and DMCS (Document and Materials Control System).
