Associate – Water Engineering (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

WSP is seeking an experienced Associate – Water to lead water and wet utilities projects within its Transport & Infrastructure business in Abu Dhabi. The role combines technical leadership with project management, ensuring delivery of high‑quality designs that meet local authority standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of potable water, stormwater, foul sewerage and irrigation/TSE systems.
• Provide senior‑level expertise in hydrology, hydraulic modelling and sustainable water solutions.
• Validate design reports, modelling outputs, drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi authorities such as ADM, ADSSC/ADDCD, ADQCC and AD Ports.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across civil, environmental, transport and structural disciplines.
• Support project managers with planning, resourcing, risk, budgeting and scheduling.
• Represent the firm in client meetings, workshops, authority submissions and technical reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in water infrastructure design and consultancy.
• Proven track record on large‑scale projects in Abu Dhabi or the GCC.
• Strong coordination and leadership abilities.
• Excellent knowledge of local authority requirements.
