Aviation Legal Advisor

About the role

The Aviation Legal Advisor will support Dubai Air Navigation Services in meeting its legal, regulatory and investigative obligations within a highly complex, safety‑critical air navigation environment. Acting as a trusted counsel to safety, operations and executive leadership, the role proactively identifies legal risks, shapes mitigation strategies and ensures compliance with UAE and international aviation frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialised legal advice on aviation regulation, ICAO Annex 13 investigations, sovereign and international air law, and contract/commercial matters.
• Guide the organisation on regulatory compliance with GCAA/DCAA rules, safety management systems and Just Culture principles.
• Interface with regulators, state authorities, external counsel and international partners to protect the organisation’s legal position.
• Develop and review aviation safety assessments, risk analyses and legal aspects of safety investigations.
• Support senior leadership in shaping policy, handling time‑critical investigations and managing legal exposure.

Required profile

• LLB (or equivalent) required; LLM or specialization in Aviation Law highly desirable.
• 6–8 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in aviation or transport law.
• Proven experience advising on aviation legislation, regulatory compliance and state‑level investigations.
• Familiarity with ICAO Annex 13, GCAA regulations, safety management systems and auditing requirements.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, high integrity and sound judgement.
