AVP Fraud Investigations – External Liaison

About the role

The Group Fraud Risk & Investigations function provides second‑line oversight of fraud risk across the bank’s front‑office and support functions. The AVP – External Liaison will ensure that products, policies, processes and new initiatives are subject to comprehensive fraud risk assessments and will lead vigilance activities on loans and cards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing bank‑wide fraud assessment and mitigation strategies for key products, channels and segments.
• Support talent development initiatives within the department and act as a role model for ethical behavior.
• Review functional policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with procedural and legislative requirements.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, sustainability and cost reduction of fraud‑related processes.
• Prepare timely and accurate unit reports in line with FAB standards.
• Review amendments to group‑wide high‑risk standard operating procedures.
• Conduct walkthroughs of new initiatives to map business processes and customer journeys for fraud risk identification.
• Consult SMEs from Investigations, Technology and Strategy to obtain input for risk assessments.
• Perform reviews of group‑wide Risk and Control Self‑Assessments for units with elevated fraud risk.
• Collaborate with line management to ensure identified fraud risks are mitigated or formally accepted.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fraud risk assessment, investigations or related banking functions.
• Strong understanding of banking products, processes and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
