AVP Payroll Lead

About the role

The Assistant Vice President Payroll Lead will oversee the end‑to‑end payroll function for First Abu Dhabi Bank, ensuring accurate and timely salary, benefits, and statutory payments. This senior position partners with HR, Finance, and IT to drive compliance, efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage regular and off‑cycle payroll runs, guaranteeing error‑free disbursements in line with payroll calendars and KPIs.
• Ensure payroll processes comply with UAE labour laws, tax regulations and internal policies; submit statutory reports and remit deductions.
• Analyse payroll data, produce monthly dashboards and ad‑hoc reports for leadership and regulatory bodies.
• Perform detailed payroll reconciliations (gross‑to‑net, net‑to‑net) and resolve any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with IT and HR Systems teams on automation, system testing, data migration and SOP updates.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and maintaining robust internal controls.
• Act as the primary contact for complex payroll queries from employees and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in payroll administration within a large organization.
• Strong knowledge of UAE payroll legislation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage cross‑functional projects.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.

Required skills

• Payroll processing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Understanding of statutory reporting to tax authorities and pension funds.
