Backend Engineer

About the role

Sarwa is building the region’s fastest‑growing investment and personal‑finance platform. As a Backend Engineer you will help shape the core services that enable thousands of users to manage their financial lives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain micro‑service APIs that support investing, trading, account management and funding.
• Build scalable data pipelines and integrate third‑party services.
• Write clean, maintainable domain logic and ensure high‑quality code architecture.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of new features from concept to production.
• Collaborate with product, front‑end and DevOps teams to solve critical technical challenges.

Required profile

• Strong experience building production‑grade backend systems with Python or Go.
• Proven ability to create robust, maintainable solutions that scale with user growth.
• Solid understanding of databases, APIs, caching and security best practices.
• Familiarity with micro‑services, domain‑driven design, clean architecture and event sourcing is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
