Backend Engineer (Python, Microservices)

About the role

Dicetek LLC is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance server‑side components for AI‑powered applications. You will work on scalable microservices, robust APIs, and cloud‑native infrastructure while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python and at least one additional language (e.g., Golang, Rust, Java).
• Design, implement, and version RESTful or GraphQL APIs that integrate with front‑end applications and third‑party services.
• Apply security best practices, including authentication (OAuth, JWT) and data protection measures.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in code, database queries, or infrastructure.
• Work closely with DevOps to support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud deployments.
• Write unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests to ensure reliability and troubleshoot production issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with another backend language such as Golang, Rust, or Java.
• Hands‑on experience with microservices architecture, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and distributed systems.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, Jenkins).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
