Senior Software Verification And Validation Engineer

About the role

Join EDGE's POWERTECH centre of excellence, a leader in propulsion technologies for aerospace and defence. You will be responsible for verifying safety‑critical embedded software used in advanced UAV and autonomous platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Perform software verification activities for safety‑critical embedded software.
• Develop requirements‑based test procedures and execute test runs.
• Analyze test results and document verification outcomes.
• Conduct data/control coupling and structural coverage analysis.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, tests, and code.
• Support Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) test setup, execution and verification.
• Collaborate with software, system and certification teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer, Electrical/Electronics, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in C and/or C++ programming.
• Knowledge of DO‑178C processes and safety‑critical software development.
• Experience with requirements‑based test development, integration and unit testing.
• Familiarity with real‑time operating systems and bare‑metal development.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and C++.
• DO‑178C and DO‑330 compliance knowledge.
• RTOS, bare‑metal software development.
• Communication protocols: RS‑232/422/485, CAN bus, ARINC 825/429/664, MIL‑STD‑1553, Ethernet (TCP/UDP).
• HIL test environments.
• Configuration and requirements management tools: Git, JIRA, DOORS, JAMA.
• Test automation and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of ARINC 653 and structural coverage objectives.
