Backup/Storage Administrator – L2 (Dubai)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Backup/Storage Administrator (L2) to join our IT Systems team in Dubai. The role focuses on managing enterprise‑grade storage and backup infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability and disaster‑recovery readiness for mission‑critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Administer SAN Fibre Channel switches, blade chassis FC devices and manage zoning for storage volumes.
• Oversee storage snapshots, replication and performance optimisation for production databases.
• Maintain and troubleshoot backup technologies such as Networker, Commvault, Veeam, NetBackup and tape libraries.
• Support DR testing, update run‑books and ensure RTO/RPO compliance.
• Perform proactive capacity planning, performance analysis and system scalability improvements.
• Collaborate with DBAs, Operations and vendors to resolve incidents and optimise infrastructure.
• Document configurations, troubleshooting procedures and service records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 + years hands‑on experience in storage and backup administration.
• Strong expertise with EMC, HP and IBM SAN systems, including VxRail appliances.
• Experience with Dell EMC Unity, HP MSA/3PAR, IBM SAN Storage, Dell Data Domain and SAN switches.
• Knowledge of Dell PowerEdge servers and enterprise backup solutions.
