Banking & Finance Associate – Dubai

About the role

This permanent position is with an international law firm that has a strong Middle East presence. The associate will join a fast‑growing banking and finance team in Dubai, working on high‑value, cross‑border transactions for both conventional and Shari'ah‑compliant financing.

Key responsibilities

• Advise borrowers and lenders on GCC and international financing deals.
• Draft, review and negotiate LMA facility agreements, security documents and related finance documentation.
• Manage conditions precedent (CP) checklists and coordinate completions across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support private credit, real‑estate finance and Islamic finance transactions.
• Conduct due‑diligence on borrowers, guarantors and collateral, identifying risks and proposing mitigants.
• Advise on security packages and oversee perfection steps.
• Draft and review legal opinions and liaise with local counsel.
• Undertake legal research as required.

Required profile

• English‑qualified solicitor with approximately three years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong background in banking and finance law.
• Exposure to Islamic finance or real‑estate finance is advantageous but not essential.
• Comfortable handling cross‑border transactions and CP management.
• Commercial, detail‑oriented and proactive.
• Confident working both independently and as part of a team.
