Manager - Post Contract Management

About the role

The Manager – Post‑Contract Management oversees the administration, performance, compliance and closeout of contracts after award and execution. The role safeguards the organisation's commercial interests while ensuring contractual obligations, milestones and payments are met throughout the contract lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned contracts from award through completion, closeout or termination, ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements.
• Review contracts, develop administration plans and identify key risks, obligations and stakeholder requirements.
• Monitor contract performance, including milestones, deliverables, payment schedules, renewals, warranties and other commitments.
• Maintain contract records, trackers, registers, dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility of status and performance.
• Prepare management reports highlighting progress, risks, delays, issues and corrective actions, escalating critical concerns as needed.
• Handle contract variations, amendments, change orders, extensions, claims and disputes, assessing commercial, financial and operational impacts.
• Maintain risk registers and implement mitigation plans to minimise contractual exposure.
• Coordinate contract financial aspects – values, payments, deductions, penalties – with Finance and relevant stakeholders.
• Act as primary contractual point of contact for internal teams, suppliers, contractors, customers and consultants.
• Lead contract closeout activities, capture lessons learned and support process improvements and system implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Commercial Management, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in contract management, commercial management, procurement or project management, preferably within defence, government, engineering, infrastructure or manufacturing.
• Relevant certifications such as World Commerce & Contracting (WCC), CIPS Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), PMP or FIDIC are advantageous.
