Blockchain Expert

About the role

Bybit is seeking a Blockchain Expert to lead research and development of foundational blockchain technologies, including cryptography, smart contracts and consensus mechanisms. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and focuses on advancing the company’s private‑key signing system and secure wallet solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop tooling for core blockchain technologies such as cryptography, smart contracts and consensus mechanisms.
• Design, implement and improve multi‑party computation (MPC) algorithms for the company’s private‑key signing system.
• Conduct security research on trusted execution environment (TEE) based solutions.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of cryptographic fundamentals, including homomorphic encryption, secret sharing and zero‑knowledge proofs.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one mainstream MPC protocol (e.g., GG18, FROST, MST, TSS).
• Ability to read and contribute to low‑level cryptographic library code.
• Fast learner with analytical thinking, logical reasoning and a security‑first mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Go, Rust or C++.
• Familiarity with cryptographic libraries such as libOTe, EMP‑toolkit, MP‑SPDZ, zkp.js or tss‑lib.
• Experience with custodial/MPC wallet solutions (e.g., Fireblocks, ZenGo, Qredo) is a plus.
