Civil Draftsman

About the role

A client of Agile Consultants is hiring a Civil Draftsman in Dubai to join its engineering team. The role covers preparing detailed drawings and plans for civil engineering and construction projects such as roads, buildings, drainage systems and other infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for civil engineering projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other relevant software.
• Develop site layouts, grading plans, road profiles, utility layouts and structural details.
• Collaborate with civil engineers, architects and other team members to collect design specifications and resolve design issues.
• Revise drawings according to feedback and mark-ups from engineers and project managers.
• Ensure drawings comply with local regulations, codes and standards.
• Maintain and organise drawing files and related documents in line with company standards.
• Visit sites when needed to gather data or verify measurements.
• Assist in preparing quantity take-offs and Bills of Materials.
• Stay up to date with design software and industry standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or certification in Civil Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
• At least 3 years of proven experience as a Civil Draftsman or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts and construction processes.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail, good communication and teamwork skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other drafting software.
• BIM experience is a plus; familiarity with GIS software is also mentioned.
• Exposure to structural and architectural drafting is an advantage.
