Civil Estimation Engineer

About the role

A client of Agile Consultants is hiring a Civil Estimation Engineer in Dubai to join its construction team. The role prepares accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects such as infrastructure, site development, earthworks, roads and utilities, by analysing project plans, specifications and technical documentation to build comprehensive cost estimates, tenders and bids.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders so estimates match project goals and constraints.
• Take part in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and conditions.
• Maintain and organise drawing files and documents according to company standards.
• Assist in preparing tender submissions, bid documents and project proposals.
• Monitor cost trends and give feedback on budgeting and forecasting.
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in civil estimating or related construction roles.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials and codes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with public and private sector projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of local regulations and permitting processes is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid, PlanSwift, AutoCAD or similar.
• Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
• Strong mathematical, analytical and organisational skills.
