Civil Surveyor – Rail Projects

About the role

The Civil Surveyor will provide setting‑out, control and as‑built survey support for rail‑related civil works in Abu Dhabi. Working closely with the construction team, you will ensure that all works are positioned, aligned and levelled according to approved drawings and design data throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks and reference grids; set out alignments, levels and gridlines for earthworks, structures, drainage and buildings.
• Carry out routine and specialised surveys (topographic, cross‑section, volume/quantity) to support construction planning and progress measurement.
• Perform as‑built surveys, verify conformity with design tolerances, and produce as‑built drawings and records for QA/QC and handover.
• Process and manage survey data using AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent, maintain coordinate registers, field books and instrument logs, and prepare survey reports for project management and commercial teams.
• Liaise with site engineers, QA/QC and contractor survey teams to coordinate activities and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of construction/site surveying experience, including setting‑out and as‑built work.
• Proficiency with total stations, GNSS/GPS, levels and survey/CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in the Middle East/UAE and on rail or major infrastructure projects is highly advantageous.
• Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
