Class Teacher Primary (Kindergarten to Grade 5)

About the role

Virginia American School is seeking an enthusiastic Class Teacher Primary to join its Kindergarten or Elementary phase. The role focuses on student‑centered learning, supporting the holistic development of children from Kindergarten through Grade 5.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for mixed‑gender classes, adapting content to meet the needs of higher‑ and lower‑attaining students, EAL, SEN, Emirati and G&T learners.
• Use assessment‑for‑learning, assessment‑of‑learning and assessment‑as‑learning strategies to personalise instruction and accelerate progress.
• Implement short, medium and long‑term curriculum plans aligned with school objectives.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on student achievement, ensuring high‑quality education and measurable progress.
• Apply enquiry‑based teaching methods and connect learning to real‑world contexts.
• Collaborate with the Principal and contribute to any additional teaching duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) relevant to Early Years or Primary.
• Minimum of one year of experience teaching in a primary classroom (Early Years, Key Stage 1/2, Kindergarten or Elementary).
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication skills in English, excellent attendance and health record.
• Understanding of UAE school culture (induction provided for overseas candidates).

• Experience with digital learning tools and platforms.
