Cohesity NetBackup Engineer – Data Protection Specialist

About the role

The company is looking for an experienced Cohesity NetBackup Engineer to lead enterprise data‑protection initiatives across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will design, implement and manage backup and disaster‑recovery solutions using Cohesity NetBackup and the Alta Data Protection suite while ensuring compliance and data integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure and administer Cohesity NetBackup environments (master/media servers, clients, appliances).
• Leverage Alta Data Protection and Alta View console for unified backup orchestration across hybrid and multi‑cloud workloads.
• Manage end‑to‑end backup operations: scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Implement backup policies, storage‑lifecycle policies, retention schedules and deduplication strategies.
• Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations and integrations with minimal downtime.
• Configure backup for physical, virtual (VMware/Hyper‑V) and cloud workloads.
• Design and execute Disaster Recovery testing, failover/failback procedures and align RTO/RPO targets.
• Administer tape libraries, disk‑based storage (Data Domain, StoreOnce) and cloud storage tiers.
• Manage Azure‑based backup components, ensuring security, compliance and cost‑effectiveness.
• Utilize Alta Recovery Vault for immutable, air‑gapped data protection and rapid cyber recovery.
• Monitor backup health, resolve failures proactively and maintain SLA targets.
• Prepare capacity planning reports, technical documentation, SOPs and audit support materials.

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in enterprise data protection, backup and recovery solutions.
• Strong working knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure and related services.
• Proven ability to design and manage complex backup environments in hybrid settings.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
