Commis 1 – Kitchen Assistant in Downtown Dubai

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Commis 1 to join the culinary team at The St. Regis Downtown Dubai. In this entry‑level kitchen position you will support chefs by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, weigh, store, wash and peel fruits and vegetables.
• Measure, mix and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Test food for doneness, monitor quality and ensure correct temperatures.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 25 lb throughout the shift.
