About the role
The Commis 1 position at Layali, Marriott Al Forsan, supports the kitchen team in preparing and presenting high‑quality meals for guests. The role involves both hot and cold food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting with service communication.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and monitor food quality and quantity.
- Thaw frozen items, maintain food logs and ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish.
- Communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess food to chefs and service staff.
- Support management in hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching as needed.
Required profile
- Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
- Minimum three years of relevant kitchen experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
Required skills
- Food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Temperature control of kitchen equipment.
- Food safety and hygiene practices.
