Commis Chef – Hotel Kitchen Support

About the role

The Commis Chef assists the kitchen team at Avani Palm View Dubai Hotel & Suites, supporting daily food preparation, cooking, and presentation. This entry‑level position ensures that every dish meets the hotel’s recipes, hygiene standards, and quality expectations while maintaining a clean work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to approved recipes, portion sizes and hotel standards.
• Assist the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with daily preparation and operation of the assigned kitchen section.
• Wash, cut, chop, marinate and portion ingredients as required.
• Maintain consistent quality, taste and presentation of all dishes.
• Keep the kitchen, equipment, utensils and work areas clean and hygienic.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, sanitation and personal hygiene standards at all times.
• Check freshness and quality of ingredients, report concerns and store items using FIFO and proper temperature controls.
• Minimise food waste and use supplies responsibly.
• Support buffet setups, live stations, banquets and other events when needed.
• Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any defects.
