Commis I – Kitchen Assistant (Luxury Hotel)

About the role

As a Commis I at DELANO Dubai, you will support the kitchen brigade in preparing and executing high‑quality dishes within a luxury hospitality setting. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience while maintaining strict hygiene and consistency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and ingredient handling according to recipes and brand standards.
• Set up and maintain a fully organised mise‑en‑place station for efficient service.
• Support senior chefs during service by completing tasks accurately and promptly.
• Ensure consistency in food presentation, portioning, and quality in line with DELANO standards.
• Follow HACCP, hygiene, and food‑safety procedures to keep a clean workstation.
• Handle stock storage, labeling, and rotation to preserve freshness and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with Demi Chef de Partie and Chef de Partie to keep kitchen operations smooth.
• Continuously learn culinary techniques under senior supervision.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Commis I or II in a luxury hotel or high‑end restaurant preferred.
• Basic understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
• Strong focus on accuracy, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and HACCP principles.
• Team‑player attitude with willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
• Formal culinary qualification or international culinary training is a plus.
• Positive personality, authenticity, and passion for hospitality.
