Commis II – Bakery & Pastry Chef

About the role

We are seeking a Commis II to join the bakery and pastry team at InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa. The role supports the Pastry Chef in creating a variety of breads, pastries, desserts and cakes that meet the resort’s high quality standards and delight our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present bakery and pastry items following hotel recipes and quality guidelines.
• Assist in the production of breads, pastries, desserts, cakes and other baked goods.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and ensure adequate stock levels.
• Handle food in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Support inventory control by minimizing waste and using ingredients efficiently.
• Receive and store deliveries and perform other kitchen duties as required.
• Collaborate closely with the Pastry Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen, preferably within a hotel or restaurant.
• Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation.
• Commitment to high standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety.
