Commis II – Pastry Kitchen (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Fairmont Bab Al Bahr hotel is seeking a motivated Commis II to join its pastry kitchen team. Working in a five‑star beachfront environment, you will support the creation of high‑quality pastries, desserts, breads and confectionery for guests and events.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and producing pastries, cakes, breads, chocolates and other items following established recipes.
• Support the Pastry Chef with mise en place, baking, decoration and finishing of products.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization and HACCP compliance of workstations, equipment and storage areas.
• Handle, store and label ingredients correctly to preserve freshness and reduce waste.
• Help with buffet setups, banquets, à la carte orders and special event pastry requirements.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to the Pastry Chef.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a pastry kitchen of a luxury hotel, resort or high‑volume bakery.
• Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods and dessert preparation.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
