Commis (Kitchen Assistant) – Full-Time

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis to join the food and beverage team at our Sheraton hotel in Dubai. The role involves supporting the kitchen staff by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel and cut fruits and vegetables.
• Measure, mix and cook food according to recipes and quality standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Monitor cooking progress, test food for doneness and ensure proper presentation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions and maintain hygiene of all kitchen areas and tools.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, follow safety and security policies, and report any hazards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for long periods and lift items up to 25 lb.
• Professional appearance and ability to communicate clearly.
• Commitment to teamwork, quality standards and confidentiality.
